Canadian Pensioners’ Mortality (CPM) tables
\kəˈneɪdiən\ \ˈpɛnʃənərz\ \mɔrˈtæləti\ \ˈteɪbəlz\
A series of standard tables published by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries as part of the Canadian Pensioners’ Mortality study.
The study was based on data submitted by participating Canadian defined benefit pension plans, with the CPM tables subsequently becoming widely used for assessing baseline mortality for Canadian plans. The CPM tables were published in 2014 based on mortality experience over 1999 to 2008, with individual tables covering males and females and sector (public/ private/ combined). The CPM tables also have corresponding pension size adjustment factors for accounting for the impact of pension size on mortality expectations.
